MiniShelf Terms of Use#
Last updated: 8 October 2026
1. Who we are#
MiniShelf is provided by Kazim Gokhan Dogramaci. Email: info@gokhand.com.
2. These terms#
By using MiniShelf, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard licence (EULA) also applies. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
3. Who can use MiniShelf#
MiniShelf is for parents and other adults aged 18 or over. Children do not use accounts; everything about a child is entered by a parent.
4. Your account and your shelf#
- Adding books, finding a book to read, the basket, "I need a book about…" and the wishlist work without an account and without a subscription.
- If you sign in (Apple, Google or an email code), keep your sign-in method safe.
- One shelf per account. If you sign in on a phone that already has books, you choose: bring them into your account, or use the account's shelf.
- Sharing a shelf: every grown-up on a shared shelf can see and change all of it. A removed grown-up loses access; their unsaved changes are lost. A grown-up who leaves keeps a copy of the books on their phone.
- You can delete your account and all its data at any time, in the app or at https://www.gokhand.com/minishelf/delete-account/.
5. Your content#
You keep ownership of what you add: books, notes and photos. You give us the right to store it and show it to you, to the grown-ups on your shelf and, for the wishlist, to people who open your family link. Nothing more.
Do not add photos or notes that are not yours to share, that contain other people's private information, or that are unlawful or abusive. We may remove such content or suspend an account that breaks these terms.
6. AI content#
Some things in MiniShelf come from AI:
- reading the books in a shelf photo (you confirm every book; nothing is added automatically),
- the "What it's about" and "Its message" texts on a book's page (labelled "AI", with "Is this right?" to report a problem),
- some age ranges and topics.
AI can be wrong. Use it as a starting point, not as fact, and not instead of reading the book yourself or professional advice. MiniShelf never writes stories and never presents AI text as the book's own words.
7. Fair use#
Please do not:
- try to reach another family's data, get around the app's limits, or disturb the service,
- copy or resell the book catalogue or the AI texts,
- use a family link to spam or mislead people.
8. MiniShelf Plus#
- Plus is optional. The features in section 4 stay free.
- The App Store or Google Play sells Plus and takes the payment. The price, the period and what Plus includes are shown before you buy. We describe only benefits that exist.
- A subscription renews automatically at the shown price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancel in your Apple or Google account settings (in the app: Settings > MiniShelf Plus > Manage subscription).
- Refunds and withdrawal go through the store: Apple ("Report a Problem" or "Withdraw Transaction" in your purchase history) or Google Play (its refund request form). If you live in the EU or UK, you may have a legal right to withdraw within 14 days; it ends once Plus starts, if you asked for it to start at once and confirmed this when you bought. Your legal rights are not affected.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.
9. Links to other sites#
"Borrow" and "Buy" open other sites (for example WorldCat or Bookshop.org). Links that may earn us a commission are marked "Paid link". We are not responsible for other sites.
10. Ending#
You can stop using MiniShelf and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, with notice where we reasonably can.
11. How MiniShelf is provided#
We work to keep MiniShelf useful and running, but book details, AI texts, age ranges and library or shop information can be incomplete or out of date. This does not limit your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights if the app does not work as described.
12. Liability#
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using MiniShelf. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intent or gross negligence, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
13. Law and courts#
These terms follow the law of the country where you live, including its consumer protections, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
14. Changes#
We may change MiniShelf or these terms for a valid reason, for example a new law, a security need or a new feature. We tell you in the app before a significant change takes effect. If a change makes Plus clearly worse for you, we tell you in advance and you can end your subscription.
